Summer Youth Programming Course for Teachers
This course is only available to teachers who work within Oasis summer programs. The focus of the course is improving instructional development while utilizing a developmental assets framework. Participants will connect teaching and learning in a summer camp atmosphere while providing an everyday meaningful service for children.

The course focuses on:
Knowledge of Students - knowledge of child development and teacher relationship with children; understanding their interest, abilities and aspirations.
Learning Environment - establish a caring, inclusive, safe community where children can work collaboratively.
Multiple Paths to Knowledge - provide children with multiple paths to learning.
Respect for Diversity - help students learn to respect and appreciate diversity in a group setting.
Reflection - Instructors evaluate and reflect on their effectiveness.
