Lead the Way

Oasis Counselor-In-Training (CIT) Program for Teens in Grades 10 and 11

From Camper to Counselor

If your child is ready to transition into a leadership role, this training program provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on work experience. As a Counselor-in-Training (CIT), your child will learn valuable mentorship skills and responsibility.

How It Works

As a CIT, your teen will spend most of the day with hands-on leadership activities, working with one of the camp age groups:

  • ESIC (ages 3-5 years old)
  • Lower Camp (entering 1st or 2nd grade)
  • Upper Camp (entering 3rd to 6th grade)

Each afternoon, the CIT’s will come together for peer activities. This gives them an opportunity to enjoy recreational activities, socialize with peers, and gain additional job training. They will even have some opportunities to join some travel camp excursions.

What does the CIT Training Cover?

Oasis Day Camps are founded and led by youth development professionals. We’ve developed a summer-long training program for our oldest campers that includes:

  • Child behavior
  • Leadership skills
  • Group management
  • Team collaboration

CIT’s are encouraged to keep a journal to record and reflect on their experiences during the summer. All training is included in your tuition.

Gain Real World Work Experience at Camp

The CIT experience is an investment in your teen’s future. It’s an incredible opportunity to gain leadership training and practical work experience. These are skills they may use as they continue their academic and future professional careers. Enroll your rising 10th, or 11th grader today!
