We have exciting news to share with you about the Oasis Bayside location. As you all know, we strive to give our campers the best possible experience each and every summer. After the last few years at Fort Totten, we are now prepared to offer you an amazing upgraded camp experience at our wonderful location at LIU Post University at 720 Northern Blvd in Brookville, Nassau County. We are relocating our Oasis Bayside camp to this beautiful location that offers so much more to our families at no additional cost for grades pre-k – 5th grade. Oasis is entering our 8th year at this one-of-a-kind location, which will be able to give your camper a truly memorable experience.
Our camp at LIU Post offers over 350 acres of outdoor, lush space and plenty of shaded areas. With ample sports fields, as well as a 77,000 square foot air-conditioned gymnasium, indoor space including a theater, classrooms, computer rooms for coding, pre-school-oriented facilities and an indoor salt-water pool. For our grade school campers (1st to 5th grade – we also offer horseback riding) at an additional cost). Your children will be engaged in upgraded activities, in a premier facility, while maintaining our 2023 Bayside lower and upper camp pricing (pre-k -5th grade). Leading our day camp is Jennie Fisher our Pre-k – 5th Grade Camp Director. Jennie comes to us from a day camp in Queens where she worked for 15 years. She began her career there as a counselor and worked as a division leader for 5 years. Jennie spent her remaining 9 years there as an Assistant Director. During the school year, she works as a Special Education teacher. Jennie’s 11-year-old daughter will be joining the Oasis family as a camper. Jennie is excited to meet all of our day campers and looks forward to continuing to provide the memorable summers you have come to expect at Oasis LIU-Post summer camp!
Junior Travel, Teen Travel and Teen Adventure:
Junior Travel: For those campers entering 6th and 7th grade we offer a Junior Travel Program. 3 days per week our juniors will go on exciting day trips throughout the tri-state area (lunch is included in your tuition when juniors travel on day trips, as well as our hot lunch program when staying on the grounds of LIU). The rest of the week they will enjoy all of the fantastic amenities on our campgrounds with a wide variety of activities from sports, the arts, special events and swim. This program is truly the best of both worlds as they transition from day camper to traveler.
Teen Travel: For our 8th through 12th grade, we offer a Teen Travel Program, one of the best in the United States. Every day the teens will embark on amazing day trips and in weeks 3, 4, and 6 we have our overnight trips. Lunch is always included in teen travel on all of our trips. We are also excited to share that Vick, your Bayside Teen Travel Director will be joining us at LIU Post Teen Travel for summer 2024. We could not be more excited to have Vick on board at LIU and he will be a great addition to our returning awesome travel staff. Please note that pricing for our travel programs did incur an increase due to the higher quality day trips offered and an additional overnight trip (week 3).
Teen Adventure (open to Teen Travel campers): This renowned program is for the teen traveler looking for more than just an overnight. In week 7, our teens have the option to be a part of this incredible week-long program. Previous Teen Adventures have included Ohio and Toronto and we are excited to announce this year our teens will be going on a Carnival Cruise out of Miami. This trip is sure to be one of the highlights for Summer 2024.
At Oasis, we pride ourselves on delivering a state-of-the-art, top-notch travel program. Leading our travel divisions and Counselor in Training Program is our 6th through 12th grade Camp Director and Regional Director of Travel for Oasis, Matthew Kinigson. He has been a part of the Oasis LIU family for 8 years. Matthew is a teacher with 28 years of teaching experience in high school and middle school, along with over 15 years of camp directing and travel experience at several camps on Long Island. Matthew has been leading and planning trips for teens throughout the United States and Europe for the past 25 years, which ensures your campers will be in great hands. Safety is always our top priority, fun is a close second. With a goal of making the transition from Bayside to LIU Post seamless, we are very excited that your Operation Director, Bryan will be joining us at LIU Post, bringing with him his vast experience and familiarity with our Bayside campers and families. Your drop off and pick up will be at Fort Totten park where the children will board a FREE shuttle that will bring them to LIU Post to enjoy their day. Drop off will be at 8:15am, the shuttle will leave 8:25-8:30am and the return to Fort Totten about 4:30-4:45pm. You can always choose to drop off and pick up at LIU Post as well.
